All too often, we find that our clients rely on lived experience and instinct to guide strategy decisions.
With lean teams and small budgets, often those of us in the association, small business, and nonprofit spaces recycle strategies that we perceive as having worked in the past. We rely on market research comprised primarily of verbal feedback from folks willing to provide us with that feedback. We do what we think works and funnel money and resources based on our gut.
Leading an organization almost always means you work hard. Our goal at 3MC is to help you, and your team, work smart.
Building a foundation for measurement
Once upon a time, marketers had to rely on their gut because that’s all they had. But, it’s 2020. Google knows a terrifying amount of information about each and every one of us. Choosing to activate marketing strategies without doing the work to be able to measure those strategies for return on investment—especially in the digital space—is simply lighting money on fire.
At 3MC Media, we firmly believe in doing nothing without being able to measure impact. We challenge our clients to invest in building the foundation for measurement necessary to be able to understand which strategies are working and which aren’t. This means fully leveraging Google Analytics on your digital assets, setting up conversion tracking for Google and social media ad campaigns, and identifying KPIs (key performance indicators). You (and we) need to know what success looks like so that we can understand which channels (social media, paid advertising, the blog, email, etc.) are helping you reach your goals.
Activate, measure, optimize, repeat
Then, we take a systematic approach. We define and then activate strategy. We measure the results. We optimize based on what we learn by tweaking targeting, message, imagery. Then we repeat that process, again and again. Eventually, this approach leads us to strategies that lead you to your goals through the efficient use of resources.
